A rare shrub in cultivation, this large deciduous species is native to the eastern Himalaya Mountains through southern China and into northern Vietnam. It features large bold and rounded leaves with deep veining. The whitish flowers appear in spring and are not particularly showy but the foliage texture and fall coloration is outstanding. Closely related to the more widely grown lantanoides from eastern North America and furcatum from Japan and similar in general appearance to those species. Our first offering of this very rare ornamental.
