Shortia uniflora 'Grandiflora Rosea'

This is a very rarely offered and choice small-scale evergreen sub-shrub. This forms a clump of glossy rounded leaves with scalloped margins. Arising from the attractive foliage in mid-spring are flower stalks rising to a few inches high. Each of these bears hanging bells of clear pink with fringed margins, absolutely stunning. Very slow growing and difficult to propagate so rarely offered for sale anywhere. Best in light shade in a moist but well-drained soil.
