Prostrate evergreen shrublets with deeply toothed, glossy leaves with a thick texture. This plant spreads very slowly by underground runners to form a dense small-scale groundcover (about three feet across in five years). The small green-yellow flowers in spring are followed by greenish “gooseberries” in late summer. A newly introduced ornamental shrub which has drawn rave reviews from those who have grown it. Best in light shade but sun tolerant with irrigation. Perfect with and under rhododendrons. This clone differs from SEH#109 (which we have been selling for many years) in having a more coarsely toothed leaf margin and with a bit of red in the green flower. Otherwise they are very similar in habit, cultivation, etc.
