A compact-growing species with incredible foliage and very beautiful flowers which appear in early summer after most other species have finished flowering. The leaves, which are retained for up to seven years, are quite glossy above with deeply impressed veins, coated beneath with a compact silvery to coppery indumentum. The flowers are pink with darker stripes on each lobe. This offering has been grown from hand-pollinated seed produced here at the RSBG.
