The aptly named “Drumstick Primrose”. This is an easily grown species with large rounded balls of purple to blue-purple flowers on the tops of short stems that arise from a basal whorl of leaves. This blooms reliably in early spring and will slowly clump up and even spread by seed in moist situations. Tolerant of wet soils but easy in any regular garden soil. Native to the Himalaya Mountains.
