Polygonatum humile

This is a very dwarf and slowly creeping Solomon’s Seal. This woodland wildflower is native to eastern Asia with upright stems to six or eight inches high with alternating small rounded-elliptic leaves – extremely cute! In the spring, one or two pendant, white flushed green flowers hang from the leaf axils along the length of the stems. These are followed by blue-black berries in late summer. Easily grown in light or deep shade and very slowly spreading into dense clumps.
