Ilex franchetiana

An evergreen holly from China with beautiful glossy and finely toothed foliage (not spiny). Large clusters of deep red “holly berries” appear on female plants in late summer and last throughout the winter. One of the best hollies for both foliage and fruit display. As with most hollies, both male and female plants are necessary for fruit production. Even without fruit this is a fine foliage plant with shiny purple new growth.
