A prostrate to somewhat mounding evergreen shrub with beautiful reddish brown, smooth and peeling bark. The small shiny leaves are almost perfectly round and are arranged in a spiral pattern around the hairy red stems. Typical manzanita flowers of white or white flushed pink in small clusters. My mature plant has not produced fruit and so probably needs cross-pollination from another clone. A choice dwarf shrub, especially for a sunny and dry exposure. Native to the Mendocino coastal plain in California.
