Another fine "Bird" hybrid from the Cox family at Glendoick Nursery in Scotland. This selection features masses of pure white and pendulous, funnel-shaped flowers in mid-spring. This is a cross of campylogynum (white form) x racemosum 'White Lace' and is an easily grown dwarf hybrid for sun or light shade. Our first offering.

This is a cross between two species here at the RSBG. The plants resulting from this intentional bit of breeding should feature the showy pink and fragrant flowers of fortunei but on a smaller, more delicate scale and with rounded leaves on a much more compact and smaller-growing plant.  

These are seedlings grown from a hand-pollination done here at the RSBG utilizing the classic, fragrant and hardy, pink-flowered form of discolor combined with our hardiest form of griffithianum in an attempt to “redo” the original cross that resulted in the famous ‘Angelo’ grex of hybrids. The ‘Angelo’ grex produced plants very similar to the ‘Loderi’ grex but with flowers later in the season due to utilizing ssp. discolor instead of ssp. fortunei. A new semi-dwarf “yak” hybrid from Glendoick. The “first really deep yellow yak” this has rounded trusses of bright yellow in late spring. Should be quite hardy and even heat tolerant. A compact and easily grown new selection. Large plants this year.

Another new hybrid from Glendoick, this is a selection from the cross (degronianum ssp. yakushimanum x hemsleyanum). It is a larger growing “yak” hybrid due to its hemsleyanum heritage but still a relatively dense and compact grower with outstanding, handsome foliage as would be expected from two such beautiful parents. The stunning flowers are pure white and vanilla-scented, appearing in early summer - a real treat after the rush of spring.
