A new species of primrose in cultivation, this was first introduced from the eastern Himalaya in 1914 but subsequently lost to cultivation in the 1940s. A close relative of the familiar Drumstick Primrose (P. denticulata) with bright pink to lilac flowers in early spring. Should be easy and showy in moist soil in sun or light shade. Grown from seed collected in the eastern Himalaya Mountains.
