An evergreen tree to 30 or so feet in height in cultivation. This camellia relative has large, smooth and glossy, toothed leaves of very deep green. In late autumn the stunning flowers appear. These are up to two or three inches across with crinkly, pure white petals highlighting a mass of dark yellow stamens in the center (like a giant Stewartia flower). Smooth and multicolored bark with age. These are cutting-grown from plants grown from seed collected wild on the China/Vietnam frontier. Our first offering of this choice species. (+10) RSBG $47.00
