This is a form of R. indicum with much narrower foliage and with a very compact growth habit, found along the Otakumi River in Yakushima, Japan. Salmon-orange flowers with split narrow petals in early summer. It is a shy bloomer, but worth growing just for the foliage. This is a heat-tolerant species that makes a great container specimen.
