A beautiful species from the mountains of SW China. This species differs from all its close relatives in having bright yellow flowers instead of the normal purple or blue. These flowers appear in early summer and are attractively marked with reddish-brown streaks. From seed collected from plants collected in the wild, this species is rarely seen in cultivation.
