A glossy-leaved evergreen shrub with an upright growth habit. A member of the “Star Anise” genus with delightfully fragrant foliage and bark. Illicium ‘Woodland Ruby’ is a hybrid cross between I. floridanum ‘Alba’ and I. mexicanum. This rounded shrub or small tree produces large, vibrant ruby-pink flowers from spring into fall. Tolerant of full sun or deep shade and also deer resistant!
