One of the newer nuttallii hybrids, this selection has huge and fragrant white flowers and smooth and peeling bark. It is derived from nuttallii x (lindleyi x dalhousiae). This is ultimately a large plant, forming a small tree in time. Best in light shade in most climates with excellent drainage. Fine in a container and will bloom at a younger age under these conditions.
A truly stunning foliage plant. And how could it not be a great foliage plant considering it is the offspring of two of the very finest foliage plants in the entire genus. The leaves are shorter and wider than a typical yakushimanum and the thick and dense indumentum that covers the lower leaf surface and stems is a bright orange-brown. The flowers are white flushed pink in mid-spring. A nice and compact growth habit.
